Jones, Denton Both Go Yard in Hawks 11-1 win over Maryville

Brycen Denton did the opposing team no favors on Monday, picking up four hits over four at bats and leading Hardin Valley to a 11-1 win over Maryville. Denton singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and homered in the fifth. Jaylen Jones also homered, with his coming in the 2nd inning to center field.
Hardin Valley started things off in the first inning, when Ty Denton grounded out, scoring one run. Maryville evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Riley Orr doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Hardin Valley pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Jaylen Jones homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Denton singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Austin King singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Logan Ozias started on the mound for the Hawks. The pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over 5 innings, striking out four and walking one.
Austin Mcglamery toed the rubber for Maryville. Mcglamery went two innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and walking zero. Colin Stokes, Cade Batchelor, and Alex McCutheon each contributed in relief for Maryville.
Hardin Valley racked up 12 hits in the game. Denton, Archer Wong-Shasteen, and Trenton Bolding all managed multiple hits for the Hawks. Denton went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
